Brisbane has a lot of older stonework: sandstone fences and steps in Paddington and Spring Hill, porphyry and sandstone retaining walls in the inner suburbs, and stone bases under early homes. Over time, mortar washes out, stones loosen and hard cement repairs crack the softer stone around them.
We repoint with mortar matched to the original, reset loose and fallen stones, and replace damaged pieces with stone that matches in colour and texture. Where a property sits in a heritage or character area, we keep repairs sympathetic to what is already there.

Can you repair an old sandstone wall without rebuilding it?
Often, yes. If the wall is structurally sound, repointing, resetting loose stones and replacing a few damaged blocks can restore it. If it is leaning or bulging, we will explain whether a partial rebuild is the safer option.
Can you quote from photographs?
Photos are helpful for an initial conversation. A site visit may be needed to confirm access, levels, materials and scope.
