Most Brisbane stone flooring work is outdoors: patios, alfresco areas, pool surrounds, front paths and the area under a raised home. Brisbane's heat and storms ask a lot of a paved surface, so we choose stone with a slip-resistant finish and lay it with falls that move water away from the house.
Sandstone, travertine and bluestone are the common choices. Sandstone and travertine stay cooler underfoot around a pool, while bluestone gives a darker, more formal finish for entries. We prepare the base properly first, because paving is only as flat as what is beneath it.
